The Guides

George Anderson:   Owner/Outfitter

George (with sons Colter (7) and Bridger(6)) a Montana Native and current year round Boulder Valley resident, grew up fishing the Sun and Teton Rivers near Choteau, MT.  George started fishing at a young age, catching his first fish at 4 and his first on a fly a few years later.   George, a perpetual outdoorsman, looks forward to sharing his passion for the outdoors with fishermen of all levels.  He is eager to provided walk/wade and rafting trips on both the Yellowstone and Boulder Rivers as well as fly casting instruction for individuals or groups.

ErigGeorge  Anderson Jr.  I call him Dad!

Dad is an avid outdoorsmen and retired Sheriff.  He spent most of his years with his two sons hanging off of him while hunting and fishing in the Choteau Montana area.  Currently, he enjoys having his 5 grand children doing much the same.  He has talked about retiring from guiding but keeps coming back because the fishermen keep asking for him.  He is ready to spend a day in the boat on the Yellowstone or walk/wading the Boulder and other local venues.

   Mark B

Mark was born in northwestern England.  He was introduced to trout fishing by his grandfather fishing the beautiful rivers of the Lake District.  In the mid eighties he moved to the US, spending twelve years in Minnesota, fly fishing the spring creeks of western Wisconsin and hunting for pheasants on the farmland of northern Iowa. Eventually Mark landed in Livingston Montana, where he lives with his wife Carol and their two young children, Turner and Lucy. Becoming a guide was a natural fit for Mark who enjoyed meeting new people and exposing them to the excellent fishing available in the area. Besides fishing Mark’s other passion is falconry, the pursuit of upland game birds with trained falcons and pointing dogs .    Spending a day with Mark on the river or over his dogs is a great time!

Dennis A

Dennis A is another of our Montana Native guides.  His local knowledge is exceptional.  Whether it is in a drift boat, one of his many rafts or from the bank on a walk/wade trip, a day spent with his great sense of humor and knowledge of the areas fish is sure to be enjoyable.   Don’t let his youthful appearance fool you, Dennis has been guiding for over 20 years.

Big Timber Fly Fishing  partners with 22 of the areas best guides.  Because of our quality and number of guides we make a great choice for large events.  At BTFF we understand matching your personality with your guide can make or break a day of fishing.  Our guides have proven themselves to be excellent fishermen that are a joy to spend a day or more on the river.  We greatly enjoy introducing people to the sport or sharing the day with folks that have fined tuned their skills over the years!
