About Our Company
In 1986, Channing Welin founded the company, selling it to George Anderson, in 2006. Rachel Cullen and Doug Ayers then bought Big Timber Fly Fishing in 2019, partnering with George as Big Timber Fly Fishing’s outfitter of record and lead guide.
Rachel & Doug's shared passion for fly fishing brought us together as a couple in 2004. We have been fishing together ever since, and our passion became our livelihood when we became the owners of Big Timber Fly Fishing. Together, we bring decades of fly fishing experience to our clients, along with our experienced outfitter and guide staff.
We are also avid hunters and enjoy sharing time with our two bird dogs, Bean a German Shorthaired Pointer and Milton a Griffon Wirehaired Pointer. We enjoy living in Big Timber for its excellent outdoor opportunities and quaint small-town vibe.
Our outfitters and guides are of the highest caliber, and have decades of combined experience. We are confident we can tailor the perfect fly fishing experience to individuals and groups alike.
